The 2010 Profiles In History Auction Is June 10-12.  This is the hat worn by the wicked witch of the west, expected to fetch $100,000 to $150,000.  Told Suzanne she could wear it to work!

I dream of Jeannie, the original bottle expected to get $10,000 to $15,000

The Dress Marilyn Monroe wore in Diamonds are a girls best friend.  $150,000 to $200,000

My favorite, the coat worn by Captain Jack Sparrow only $8,000 to $12,000, I would wear that to work!

Braids Be Gone

Posted in: Tanna

It’s being called the haircut heard around the world.  Country crooner Willie Nelson cut his trademark braids.  He’s now sporting a cute bob.  Which do you prefer?

Confession time, without the booth and the priest. 40% of women lie to their girlfriends about how an outfit looks, in order to look good by comparison.  Do you ALWAYS have your girlfriend’s back or do you believe it’s survival of the prettiest?

The Food Police

Posted in: Tanna

The Food Police is outing restaurants that serve “extreme” meals high in calories & fat. 1,670 calories in a slice of Chocolate Truffle cake at the Cheesecake Factory. Does knowing that stop you from ordering a slice?  Dogs have it so much easier.  Butch this morning caught a ground squirrel and promptly ate half of it and I guarantee you, he wasn’t counting calories.

Keeping My Cool

Posted in: Tanna

AC vs Attic Fan.  I’m on AC’s side but I’m losing the battle.  When it hits 85, I say crank up the air but my husband says it’s only May, much too soon.  Look, there’s no trophy given for sweating it out.  If there is, I want it!

The Gift

Posted in: Tanna

Tis the season for weddings and graduations.  You’re slammed with invitations, not only for those parties, but for baby showers and birthdays. If you only have money for one gift, which is the most important?

The author of “Free Range Kids” advocates dropping your pre-teen kids off at the park and leaving them there alone, to teach them independence.  It seems like a scary thing to do but I remember, as a kid, roaming the state forest behind my house.  I’d be gone for hours and my parents never worried, even though there was a  state penal farm in the forest. As long as I was home by supper, it was all good.
