My friend Beth gently admonished a litterbug, at a stoplight, after witnessing the other motorist toss her sandwich wrapper out the window. Beth wants to know, was she wrong to say something? I say no..as long as the other motorist doesn’t pull a gun on you.  Seriously.  Why do some people view the road as their personal trash can?

My friend Tara  took  this video of her toddler clomping around in high heels, while crying for his daddy. She posted it on Facebook and got a complaint that she was exploiting her child. Mind you, he was the one who put on the heels and kept them on while asking for his dad. She just thought it was cute. She asked me to get your take…exploitative or not?

A Michigan couple got married in the shoe aisle of T.J. Maxx because the bride said the store was “the one constant in her life, no matter what”. What store does it for you? For me, it would be Dairy Queen.

Some well-meaning people like to dish advice, even though you’re all grown up.  Case in point.  I biked to the gym today, without wearing a helmet.  An elderly gentleman stopped me and said “Where’s your helmet?” He then, in a condescending tone, went on to say that he always wanted to shake the hand of an organ donor. I did shake and promised him a kidney, if he ever needed one.  I know he meant well but it was as annoying as those pro-nursing moms who want to ban the bottle for everyone else.

I fell for the commercial too, with its promise of a bumper crop of ruby red tomatoes.  In the photo to the left is the Topsy Turvy, as seen on TV. The photo on the right is the Topsy Turvy, as seen at Tanna’s. After 7 weeks, just 2 tomatoes. Proof you can’t always believe what you see on T.V.

It took me 52 years, but I can now say I’ve been in the presence of a Beatle, though it was a football field away at Sprint Center, Saturday night, July 24th! My wife, Kelly managed to snap a few photos off the Vision-trons on both sides of the stage, as priceless archive photos of early Beatles in Liverpool scrolled before the show.  Arguably, Paul McCartney is the most influential ROCK GOD on the planet….and he lived up to his billing on this “Up And Coming Tour”. He opened with “Venus And Mars”, then slammed into “Jet” which was sonically amazing, power and precision!
Paul proceeded in taking us on his musical journey from the Cavern in Liverpool, through hand selected Beatles classics, his Wings material and his current solo stuff (not necessarily in that order)  He stopped off to dedicate “My Love” to his late wife, Linda which was very emotional, he sang his tribute song to his writing partner, John Lennon and shared a picture gallery of George Harrison, topped off with Paul singing George’s song, “Something”.  The pyrotechnics of “Live And Let Die” rivaled any Kiss concert, and then he “Please Pleased” the Paul-fanatics with his signature compositions, “Yesterday” “Hey Jude” “Let It Be” and “Blackbird”. Words can hardly express what an honor it was to have Sir Paul McCartney in Kansas City, sharing his material that has influenced three generations, and has inspired a thousand bands!!

I went for a jog early this morning because I have to keep up with Jennifer Aniston who runs every day.  My face is still red from the heat which brings me to this question.  I passed another runner who had his dog on a leash.  The dog didn’t look so thrilled to be out on such a hot day.  Should I have said something or is it any of my business?  Someone told me that a dog would actually run itself to death to please its master.  Is that just an old wives tale?

Intern Abby loaned her boyfriend $1,000.  They later broke up but are still friends, however, he keeps “forgetting” to pay her back. She’s mentioned it a couple of times but feels awkward asking for payment.  What should she do?  Turn it over to a collection agency or end the friendship, move on, lesson learned.
