sexy ladybugWho put the sex in Halloween? An 8 year old pirate costume for girls is called “High Seas Hottie”. Then there’s the “Sexy Ladybug” costume. Are those appropriate for kids? Remember when we just grabbed an old sheet and went as Casper the Friendly Ghost. We didn’t need the fishnet stockings to get candy!

  1. Sorry, this just makes me queasy. Nauseous. My sister and I had words back in the 90’s when she referred to her then 7 & 8 yr old daughters trying on swimsuits as “that’s not sexy” R U KIDDING ME? What are we telling our 7 and 8 yr old boys with these commments made in front of them? And how do we balance their want to grow up with conduct acceptible in our society? Not with Britney nor Christina and unfortunately, not with my favorite “Dancing with the Stars” At least they had eliminated the crawling under a woman dancer on the floor for a couple of weeks. THAT is NOT dancing; surely we will not fall into the stereotype of dancing, costumes, song lyrics as only precursor to sex. Parents and grandparents and fellow interactors with children: Bring your best self not your least. DON’T BUY “THEIR” agenda. Create your own standards and stick to them. our purchase power DOES make a difference.
