I had a recording session today with Dick Hawk, the owner of the Gaslight Grill, and we got into a philsophical discussion about life and who has or had it better..you or your grandma?  I think both of my grandmothers were more connected to what’s important. The basics.  Providng for their families.  I can still see my Grandma Sweeney, with a bandana wrapped around her head, hoisting her ax and chopping off the head of the chicken that she would fry up for supper that night. I also have memories of being chased by that headless chicken.  It’s where I learned to sprint.  But I digress. My grandmothers seemed more grounded than I am, with my rush-around life. I’m just having trouble dialing it back.
